2007 MMF bike team

So the weekend was another great one of bike riding. Part of the riding festivities involved having a bike team BBQ. There is nothing better than riding a bike and having a post ride BBQ. Um um good.

Here is a picture of the 2007 MMF bike team. We are a bunch of riders trying to raise a bunch of money, riding a bunch of miles.

Memorial Day Weekend

This weekend 3 friends and I packed up Carlos, the 4Runner and went to Angel Fire, (near Taos) NM to camp and cheer Sonya on with her mountain bike race. We took our mountain and road bikes to partake in the Angel Fire fun.

We went grocery shopping to kick off all of the festivities.

Here we are in Angel Fire.. we ate some good stuff before bike riding. Brianna can definitely serve up the chow. All I am good for is driving the car. And modeling spinach.

Here is Sonya I the day before the race.. I "pre-rode" the course with her. She ended up in 2nd place in the "Masters" division, completing the course in 2:05:47. (She would have placed top 10 in the pro-division.)

After Day #1 of bike frenzy we went and set up camp.

This is the first time I have ever car camped. (Dude! I know, I have only ever backpacked.)

This is Sonya and Leanna's "Taj Majal" It has 2 bedrooms. It housed Sonya, Leanna and the two guard dogs.

Brianna kicked us off with a little appetizer of avocado, cheese and crackers while we set up camp. Yummm.


Here is Dan being the camp fire man. And Leanna tossing a cup. I HIGHLY suggest sweet potatoes, corn, toasted peppers in the campfire. I love camping.



Day #2 of bike frenzy... Bri, Dan and I rode the 'Enchanted Circle' loop which was a 96.4 mile loop from Angel Fire, Red River, Questa, and Taos. Even though there was a motor cycle rally along that route, we were stopped in a DUI checkpoint, it rained, we gained 4,000' of elevation, and I got a sunburn, it was beautiful.

AND we STILL stopped in Taos and ate some really really great New Mexican food. I love that in NM they put an enchilada in the huevos rancheros. (Not the best neutrition for biking.. but we were on vacation, give me a break)

I feel super blessed to have such an amazing place to go, with great friends.

Random Stuff #1

Just in case you all were wondering if we won our kickball championship game tonight... it was cancelled due to a down pour of rain. Stay tuned next week.

So I went to my new favorite activity. Spin-Yoga class. Come with me. It is fun.

That is it.
I still don't have a m or n button on my computer. It is annoying and making me not want to turn on my computer, so I have to ride my bike. It is quite the sacrifice. Sorry if I have not returned any emails. Emailing on a bike is difficult.

Mixed emotions.

I lost my Order of the Engineer ring. I can no longer be an engineer. Seriously.
I have worn this ring for the past 7 years since I graduated college and became a full member of this honorable engineering society that upholds engineering to the highest degree.
It fell off my hand in my bike ride this weekend.
If anyone happens to be in Santa Fe, New Mexico and are following the bike route, will you look around for me at about mile 39-52? I think that is where I lost it.

This past weekend was a TON of fun..
It all started out with fresh, hot, enchiladas made by my cousins when I arrived in Alburqueque. Enchiladas are the way to my heart, so if you want me to come visit you, just cook me up a batch. I chatted with the cousins, my aunt and uncle, had a great night of sleep. I woke up and rode one of the strongest rides of my life. It felt good. With that said, I am still scared to ride the Triple Bypass.

Ok people. Tomorrow is the kickball championships. Wish me luck.

Yes. I am officially stuck with a keyboard that now has the letter "n" that is difficult to push and by taking off the letter "n", the "m" fell off, and I cannot find it.

On that note of brilliance... I am done with school for the summer. Yahoo. It has been a rough semester. I dropped a class, and I think, hope, pray that I got an 'A' in another. I am officially half way through the Masters. Giddy-up.

Finishing school has allowed me to ride my bike all weekend, guiltless. This is great because now I can ride my bike and lay on my couch.

Life is good in the land of Lia.

My sister Tara was married to Jessee this weekend. We all got dressed up, maked up and up do-ed.. Here are some picts.

The church part was beautiful, aside from the fact that I cannot really read out loud in a microphone.

The rain held back until after all the pictures were taken. Whew.

Other then that...Cake was eaten, dancing was done, and nobody got hurt.
